Leadership

Henry & Gerety Builders has a long reputation for success, having served Fairfield County in the areas of new construction and commercial renovations, including: banking renovations; church renovations; disaster recovery and reconstruction; educational facility renovations; financial building renovations; healthcare renovations; medical office renovations; religious facility renovations; and urgent care centers.  A direct result of Henry & Gerety’s long success is having consistently maintained a steady and loyal client base.

Initially a residential contractor, the company first focused on delivering quality home construction. Company founders, Ed Henry and Ed Gerety, firmly believed that sound construction, accurate estimating and fair pricing were the hallmarks of a quality contractor. The business has never lost sight of these principles.

In 1945, Henry & Gerety expanded, in order to meet the needs of the ever-changing and fast growing commercial, industrial and renovation construction. To this day, various Henry & Gerety buildings from that era continue to define the commercial and industrial landscape of the Southern Connecticut region.

Chris Bilyard has played a key role in advancing Henry & Gerety’s mission to continuously provide the highest of quality and services for both the Commercial and Medical industries.

In 1983, Chris attended Dean College, where he graduated with a degree in Building Construction in Applied Science.

After graduation, Chris spent the following 18 years working as a Carpenter Apprentice, Foreman and Project Manager, while working on Commercial Construction. Alongside his father, Arthur H. Bilyard, Chris quickly gained a thorough knowledge of what it takes to run a successful business and more importantly, a successful life. At an early age, Chris became very active with First Church Congregational where he has served on the Facilities Board, Ushers Board, and the Board of Deacons. Today he remains a proud member.

To date, Chris continues to follow the same standards of the company’s founders, that “sound construction, accurate estimating and fair practice are the hallmarks of a quality contractor.”
